#HeadStartStrong: Head Start Kids Grown Up, Strong and Successful
Head Start strives to help each family improve their quality of life and to help each child fulfill individual goals.
The Head Start program provides comprehensive child development services to economically disadvantaged children and families, with a special focus on helping preschoolers develop the early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. The Head Start program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families. We engage our parents in their children's learning and help them in making progress toward their educational, literacy and employment goals. Significant emphasis is placed on the involvement of parents in the administration of the Head Start program.
Head Start offers:
Qualified, caring staff with experience in working with young children.
Small class sizes, breakfast and lunch provided.
A fun filled learning environment to help your child thrive.
Monthly activities for parents and participation in your child's education.
Help with family crisis and access to all community resources.
Participation in program governance.
Head Start is federally funded and is free to income eligible families. Families with special needs children may also qualify.
