I am very concerned about the children in the Crossville Head Start program after reading the racist and culturally cruel statements made by Patricia Phillips. While she may be entitled to free speech, the children with whom she works are entitled to an emotionally safe and supportive environment. Her published remarks about Latino children and African Americans are abhorrent! I hope at the very least, attention is given from Head Start administration to address this young woman’s ability to appropriately supervise young children of diverse cultures and races!
