CARD offers Head Start/Early Head Start services in Washington, Nowata, Rogers, Mayes, Wagoner counties as well as part of Tulsa County (Broken Arrow School district).
Head Start & Early Head Start is a school readiness, family-centered program for eligible families who are expecting a baby or who have a child age 0-5.
HS/EHS helps to strengthen families through education for parents and children, enhancing parenting skills, building economic strengths, and providing a supportive learning environment for children, parents and staff.
Head Start & Early Head Start is offered at NO COST to the participants for the HS/EHS funded part of the day.
HS/EHS is federally funded by a grant to Community Action Resource & Development, Inc.
Community Action collaborates with other area agencies to serve families comprehensively.
Expectant families and those with children 0-5 years of age living in the counties served may apply.
The program utilizes selection criteria, including income eligibility.
Families with children with disabilities as well all interested families, are encouraged to apply.
